The ECOMOG, A Sub-Regional Experience, was successfully launched at the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre, Accra, Ghana, on 27 November 2018.
The event was chaired by Lieutenant General Obed Akwa, MV, Chief of the Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces.
Dr Evans Dzikum, Chief Director at the Ministry of Defence, represented the Hon Dominic Nitiwul, MP, Minister for Defence, the Guest of Honour.
The Hon (Dr) Benjamin Kunbuor, Former Minister for Defence, delivered the keynote address.
The Hon Totobi Quakyi, Former PNDC Secretary for Information and NDC Minister for National Security, and Rear Admiral Sampa Nuno, Former Chief of the Defence Staff, also made statements. The two had played political and naval operational roles in the ECOMOG campaign.

Congratulations on the successful launch, unfortunately I could not make it because of the DAMBA festival that required my presence and the preparation for the funerals of the two late Kings of Dagbon.
